  1. It is true that 'Sankaranarayana’s work ‘ Sankaranarayaneeyam’ was written in 869 CE based on internal evidence. There is internal evidence for a solar ecclipse observed by Prince Sthanu Ravi Kulasekhara and Sankaranarayanan, the head of Ravi Varma Yandra Vilayam at Mahodayapuram (not Makotai!)in 866 CE.Prince Sthanu Ravi Kulasekhara was not yet a crowned King 889 when the astronomor wrote the above work, which is also known by 'Laghu Bhaskareeya Vivarana'since the Chera Cheiftain and King Rajasekharan was still alive, though quite old. As Kurumathur inscription King Rajasekharan was alive in 871 CE and was aged at least 71+16=87 years in that year. Therefore Stanu Ravi was crowned only after 871 CE. Tarisapally Copper Plate was granted after 871+5=876 CE, etc.
Is there any translation of Laghu Bhaskareeya Vivaran available either in Malayalam or English (history.kerala@gmail.com)--- Don Bosco

  2. Few omissions are regretted. (suggest to improve the comment column to avoid such typing errors). (1) Read Valayam instead of Vilayam in line 3, (2) Read ') in 866 CE. Prince' instead of ')in 866 CE.Prince, in line 4, (3) Read 'King 889 CE when' instead of 'King889when', in line 4,(4) Read 'Vivarana' since' instead of 'Vivarana'since', in line 6, (5) Read ' As per Kurumathur' instead of ' As Kurumathur', in line 7
